It's snowing

It's snowing again, this time we are supposed to get 12-14 inches. But because the weather man is always wrong we will probably end up with a dusting and disappointment. I managed to find a couple of pictures of the snowy Independence Pass online, unfortunately pictures can't do it justice either in beauty or the respect that comes from a 12,000 foot pass. Ski resorts have already started opening which means it's time to get the boards waxed and tuned...yeaaaa I can't wait. :-)

Sitting on a conference call

I read a quote once that said if you want to waste an afternoon schedule a conference call. Well here I am wasting away an afternoon. It's scary to think I have gotten so good at drowning out a voice in my ear.

We still have snow on the ground, now covered in dirty dog foot prints. And it's cloudy and chilly today. Although it is making me super excited about snowboarding season.

I have been tired today, maybe it's the weather or maybe the lack of sleep for the last 5 months but either way something is catching up. I think I'll just go ahead and drop myself into a coma by going to the gym.

Austin can now rollover from her back to her stomach and after she did it once she must have realized how easy it was because now she just flops back and forth. And she loves petting the dogs and cats and so far even does it nicely. We'll have to see how long that lasts.

Weekend of driving...

We drove over to Aspen this weekend and while we had planned on staying longer we got to Independence Pass and mother nature had decided to snow. While Joe and I aren't nervous drivers a one lane pass with 2000 foot drop offs and no guard rails that is now covered in snow kept us pretty quiet. Of course Austin had no problems sleeping through the whole ordeal while we muttered things under our breath about a snow plow being too much to ask for. It made at least 20 miles of the 4 hour trip each way quiet.

It was great to see Aunt Deb and Uncle Craig and let them meet Austin. Here's a picture I stole from Deb.

On Sunday we watched football and ate ribs with the old roommates, I love cooking for people so anytime I can find someone that likes to eat I am a happy girl.

Other than that not much else going on, or at least nothing I can think of at the moment. :-)

Water please!

First off, Happy Anniversary Murph and Carole...we'll give you hugs and kisses on a Mexican beach here soon. :-)

I have made several loaves of bread in my new breadmaker (thank you Laura, Dan, Anne and Peter). They haven't come out awesome but I am dealing with high altitude baking so I am being patient, I'll get it. Here are some pictures of the first thing that Joe and I made with it, which was this amazing pizza...we even managed to make it low calorie and good for us. :-)

This morning while Joe and Austin were having their bonding time I guess she really wanted a drink of his water so here's a cute video of him sharing his water with her. Yeppers, she is just about ready to start eating big girl food. Don't worry for those of you wondering, "well geee whiz can she have water already?"...she puked it up all over Mom. :-) Ahhh, Dad gets fun play time, Mom gets puke.

Go Broncos...

I can't believe the Broncos are 5-0, in fact I am pretty sure the Broncos can't believe they are undefeated.

We had an absolute blast at the game on Sunday, even though it was freezing cold out. Austin had fun with Grandma and Grandpa (pictures for proof). It was crazy cold all weekend here and the roads were a mess. We had a 50 car pile up and a 60 car pile up all in the one day. Luckily we and our vehicles weren't involved in anything. Our friend from South Dakota was in town so he and Joe and the boys went out on Saturday night which led to some funny stories on Sunday morning followed by headaches all around. And here's a cute picture of Joe and Austin at one of our family dinners.

First post in October...sad.

I can't believe I haven't posted once in October yet. So here comes yet another scrambled post that updates a little bit of a lot.

Joe has been biking lately and loving it, which I am glad to see. It's nice to see him so pumped about something that's even healthy for you. Of course that means that now he is shopping for a bike (like we don't already have enough hobbies) rather than continuing to ride mine. It should be fun though because we want to get a kid trailer and drag Austin along, she would love that. Joe just rode in a 23.5 mile ride for charity to prevent suicide and placed 9th, not sure out of how many but I know there were a lot of riders. Yahoo Joe, not bad for just picking this whole thing up.

Our friends were in town and we had a blast running around with them, even made it down to the lake (pictures below).

We have more friends coming into town this weekend and are all headed up to the Broncos game on Sunday. Should be awesome!

Joe continues to complain about parts of the diet but he has cheated several times which has led to him feeling sick so he is starting to see how much better his body feels without all the grease.

It's snowing right now which of course makes me miss summer a little but also makes me excited for snowboarding season, my Mom aka our only babysitter is on the way to the mountains so we will be using her a lot this winter. :-)

I am taking some classes in body self image specifically for girls hopefully I will be able to incorporate the information I learn into courses I can teach or at least help Austin to feel amazing about herself when she gets a little bit older.

I was in class the other day and Joe was feeding her so he set her down on the ground and gave her the bottle, she laid on her back and fed herself. I was heartbroken when I heard that I had missed it she grows so fast. I cannot even begin to express how glad I am that she doesn't have to be in daycare, I would miss everything just like so many of our friends do with their kids. They are always talking about more layoffs in my company, boy would that change Joe and I's lives if I had to go into the office at another job probably in Denver since there aren't that many good paying jobs in Colorado Springs. Hopefully we won't have to deal with that but at least if it does happen Joe can stay home with Austin so one of us doesn't miss everything.

Here's some pictures at the lake and of Joe's bike ride. :-)
