Ahhhh, another week come and gone. We have seen snow several times this week but now it looks like it will be warming up. We have friends in town this weekend so I am very excited to hear that the weather should be nicer. I think the only problem with Austin becoming more observant is that now she knows who's holding her. We took her with us to the chiropractor and he picked her up and she looked so scared and started to cry. It seems like just yesterday that she wouldn't have really been able to tell who was holding her in the first place. The rest of the day if she was sitting on your lap she would keep on looking up at your face just to make sure it was really you and not some stranger. Oh yeah and did I mention that it snowed on us last night while playing volleyball...outdoor, sand volleyball. I am pretty fortunate to still have all my toes. Here's a cute picture of Austin standing up on the chair, she kept leaning over to one side so we had to snap it quick with my phone but we still thought it was cute.

The weekend.
Ok so I finally took pictures this weekend so I can post them.
One of my close friends came into town this weekend so we all went out for sushi on Friday night followed by Joe babysitting so I could go out with them for a little bit.
Saturday morning we went out to a skeet shooting charity event, of course they get me at the word charity and they got Joe at the word shooting so we're both happy. I thought Joe did well, but of course he thought he could do better. That night we had a birthday dinner for my brother in law followed by a girl's night out for me. I can't imagine how intimidating we must have looked 13 girls downtown all laughing and joking, needless to say the single girls in our group didn't get approached all evening.
And then on Sunday Joe and I tried to bring Austin to her first Broncos game, she was fine with everything until the Broncos scored and when everyone jumped up and started cheering it scared her. So we felt bad and chalked it up to a bad parenting mistake and left after the first quarter. We stopped and had lunch on the way home where she proceeded to fall asleep on Dad's lap, now that's a tired baby. When Joe was carrying her back to the car she kept tasting the air with her tongue like a lizard and then laughing. And I loved the picture of her with the ear plugs in, looks just like a baby Shrek to me.

Joe the pouter
Joe has to be the best pouter I have ever met. I always feel so bad for him. Last night I made yet another (what I thought was) very inventive meal that he couldn't stand. Baked chili rellenos, grilled quesadillas and corn. I ate all of mine without hesitation, after all I have been a dieter all my life and a meal like this rather than just tuna out of the can is absolutely amazing. I even treated myself with a weight watchers ice cream cone but Joe couldn't stomach one. I wonder if his taste buds will change or if I will have to look at his poor pouty face until Christmas. He stomps around everywhere but the good news is that he is like living with a stand up comedian right now because I just can't stop laughing. Poor tortured Joe.

Tonight's Dinner Plans
You may ask...what's for tonight's dinner? Turkey burger chili. I'll make it extra spicy in hopes to camouflage the fact that there is very little fat in it. Let's see if poor Joe can finish this meal.
Biggest Loser
Ok so first off the Biggest Loser starts again tonight...it is by far my favorite TV show. I have pretty much struggled with my weight my entire life so to watch these people break down and then build themselves back up is truly inspiring. I bet my gym sees as many people joining for Biggest Loser season as they do for New Year's Eve resolutions.
Secondly (not to give away too much just in case people don't want it out there) Joe and I are dieting...at Joe's request. I know I almost fell out of my chair when he asked too. So last night after I went grocery shopping for healthy stuff, I made our first diet meal. I laughed so hard at Joe, who has never dieted before. He called it rice, veggies and plastic sausage (aka turkey sausage). Ahhhh, it's going to be a long road for him.
And third and final I still can't find our passports, social security cards, or birth certificates...wow is it hard to obtain any of these without one of them. I am keeping my fingers crossed that they don't just deport us.
